back to Year 3... for the final half term!
term, our topic is Scrumdiddlyumptious
And so the end is near,
And now we face the final curtain...
In reading, our class novel will be Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl. Children will read texts about the journey chocolate undergoes from humble beginnings as a bean on a cacao tree in Brazil to being traded in shops back home. Pupils will continue to make inferences and draw contextual evidence from a text to support in the answering of questions.
Our writing this half term will be
linked to our trip to Cadbury World on 9th June. The children will record the events of the day through photos and notes and then write a recount of the trip. We will also write a narrative based on the adventures of Willy Wonka's travels to find Umpa Lumpas on different planets. In maths, our focus will be on the use of metric measurement, solving problems involving units of length (m), weight(g) and capacity(l).
